This is part 8 of a serial about negativity and how to transform it.

Walnut
The walnut is an edible seed of any tree of the genus Juglans, best known of which is the Persian walnut – Juglans regia, although in North America you could argue that it is in fact the native Black Walnut.
All types of walnuts are quite hardy, and actually require a cold winter period in order to thrive. So anyone living in warmer climates won’t have much success with their own walnut trees.
Walnuts will start to produce nuts at around 10 years of age, give full production at 30 years and keep on producing for more than 50 years. Depending on the specific variety of the walnut tree, they can grow up to 100 feet in height.

Nutritional value
Walnuts are a nutrient-dense food: 100 grams of walnuts contain 15.2 grams of protein, 65.2 grams of fat, and 6.7 grams of dietary fiber. The protein in walnuts provides many essential amino acids.
While English walnuts are the most common, their nutrient density and profile are significantly different from those of black walnuts. For example, the Omega-3 fatty acid content of English walnuts is approximately 4.5 times that of black walnuts.
Unlike most nuts that are high in monounsaturated fatty acids, walnut oil is composed largely of polyunsaturated fatty acids (47.2%), particularly alpha-linolenic acid (18:3n – 3; 9.1%) and linoleic acid (18:2n – 6; 38.1%). The beneficial effects of this unique fatty acid profile have been a subject of many studies and discussions. Banel and Hu concluded in 2009 that while walnut-enhanced diets are promising in short term studies, longer term studies are needed to ascertain better insights.

Walnut, the Bach flower remedy / critics
Wiki writes: “Walnuts have been listed as one of the 38 substances used to prepare Bach flower remedies, a kind of alternative medicine promoted for its effect on health. However according to Cancer Research UK, “there is no scientific evidence to prove that flower remedies can control, cure or prevent any type of disease, including cancer”.”
The person who has written this in Wiki makes mistakes in exact writing (exact writing is what we might expect of a person who writes in Wiki). Walnuts are NOT belonging to the 38 substances used to prepare the Bach flower remedy “Walnut”. There is a difference between the blossom and the fruit. For the Bach remedies only blossoms are used. Generally it is remarkable is that not any mainstream healthcare medicine (created by the Pharmaceutical Industry) has been mentioned in Wiki to be criticized on their effect on the health of human beings, its side effects, how they are tested and if they are really helpful on the long term (as they promise or make you believe). We all know that this is NOT the case. Hospitals are never empty. Drug stores are always crowded, and people go out there with bags filled with medicine. General practitioners have a constant growth in patients. Waiting rooms are never empty. More and more doctors are overloaded, and in health problems.
Dr. Edward Bach has never claimed the healing effect of Walnut or any other remedy to cure or prevent cancer. I consider this article in wiki as slander, as a lie (concerning these sentences). The remedies work on a very deep level, deeper than any mainstream medicine can reach, are completely safe, and create balance. Disbalance is the main reason for creating diseases, and also of cancer. Disbalance is present in healthcare itself, worldwide, and that health care system does not contribute enough to avoid illnesses, neither to create insight about and in what health care is and means, asks, needs.

Walnut, the Bach flower remedy / how it works
Because I have worked with Bach flower remedies and used the remedies myself during several years, and still, I write about my own experiences, and the experiences of those who consulted me in my therapy practice.
Walnut has helped me, supports me, and so many others, in times of huge changes: I emigrated to Norway on an age that the most of the people start to stop working, to settle somewhere calm and cozy, and relax. I was 62, and I still live in Norway, able to handle all the changes in my life, my own life processes, the travel, many times a year, to Netherlands and back, and to feel well everywhere. I do not have a house in Netherlands, need to sleep in hotels or B&B, meet new people all the time, but I manage it, very easy, in a natural way.
Walnut helped me to drag out my psychological roots and plant them in new earth, without feeling disturbed, disbalanced. It helped me in cases that I was under the influence of people with much negativity or having an overruling power. It helped me to stay myself and feel protected, filled with self trust. Calm. Everywhere. To follow my own path.

On the website of the Bach Centre is written:
“Walnut is the remedy to help protect us against outside influences in general, and against the effects of change in particular.
Walnut people are fulfilling their purpose in life but sometimes doubt their path when they hear the opinions, theories or beliefs of others. Unlike Cerato people, those in a Walnut state don’t actively seek out the opinions of others. But opinions are offered anyway: they may be affected almost despite themselves.
As a remedy against the effects of change, Walnut is useful at all the transition points in life, from birth to teething to going to school to puberty to marriage to childbearing to retirement and beyond. It helps break links with the past so that we can move forward more easily.”
Dr. Bach: “For those who have definite ideals and ambitions in life and are fulfilling them, but on rare occasions are tempted to be led away from their own ideas, aims and work by the enthusiasm, convictions or strong opinions of others. The remedy gives constancy and protection from outside influences.”
