Bernardus Cornelis Johannes Lievegoed (2 September 1905, Medan – 12 December 1992, Zeist) was a Dutch medical doctor, psychiatrist and author. He worked with a wholistic view on healing, on psychiatry. He was guiding the patient into the patients deepest unconsciousness, to search there for the deepest psychiatric reasons of the mental illness.

Does anybody realize how difficult it is to go into the unconsciousness, the inner darkness, of the self? Only he or she who dared this, and went through it, transformed it, into light, into consciousness, awareness, are able to guide somebody else in these heavy psychological or psychiatric processes.
