The term “deep ecology” has been coined by the Norwegian philosopher and mountaineer Arne Næss (1912-2009). Deep ecology might seem to be close to ecology, but in several perspectives it is even rejecting ecology. Often, ecology is shallow, while it has to be deep. Only when seeing nature and humanity, all life on earth, in their deepest connection, it is possible to find ways to survive together. Without nature human beings are helpless; a nature without human beings would guarantee all other life forms a future.

Deep ecology has comparisons with Taoism, Wholism, Anthroposophy, Biodynamics, spiritual psychology, etc., all what is mentioned in this blog. It is an old view, now and then discovered as new, by some rare wise elders of other peoples, after older highly evolved civilizations disappeared. Probably this deep view on life and nature, existence, is related with awakening awareness. In the time we live in now the deepest awareness is awakening massively. We are on a crosspoint in history, stepping into a new time.(Painting).
Information about deep ecology can be found more and more easy on the web. I have created a special google+ page for Arne Næss videos, films, books, and more. I have also created a special YouTube channel for deep ecology, for Arne Næss.
