The war in Ukraine made it frontpage news in October 2022: 5G satellites are used because necessary in the war against Russia. When searching for more information about the military and their use of 5G, it becomes clear that this is not a sudden idea: it was already known much earlier. It makes me wonder how much chance Stop 5G appeals have, to stop 5G. Who can stop 5G now? Another point to think about: wireless communications started with and in the military, were not invented for the common people, not for commercial use. Soon the 5G use of the military is a fact, and who knows what kind of conflicts there will be between the commercial 5G and the military 5G. Star Wars, the well-known science fiction movie, can, who knows?, soon be watched from out of our bedroom window, when watching the dark sky, and wondering why all the stars are moving suddenly, and even exploding: these are not stars, but satellites, shot by other satellites. Maybe some space debris is falling on your roof, through the roof, on your head. Be aware of the: Kessler Syndrome. Be also aware that not one politician thinks about it, that UN’s Antonio Guterres sleeps[he has never answered the letter from scientists], and that NATO acts like a marionette of the US, to play the angry but stupid dog against Russia.

When listening to Noam Chomsky’s accuracy of using the correct words within the correct context on the complete historical timeline concerning Ukraine, Russia, and the west, one understands how often words are wrongly interpreted elsewhere, and creating misinterpretation, false information, misunderstanding, wrong accusations. Abstract

5G networks are in advanced stages of trials across the globe and the deployment will begin as early as 2020. In this survey paper, the possible use cases of 5G networks in the military context is captured. After the introduction, the various key 5G technologies – mmWave, massive MIMO, HetNets, SDN, NFV, D2D Communication and the challenges in road to 5G are briefly discussed. The paper then focusses on security challenges and services as offered by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP (5G)) Security Association 3 (SA3) group. Future battle space scenarios leveraging 5G technologies are covered next. Finally, the paper touches upon the present status of 5G deployment across the globe with special mention of 5G development efforts by the Government of India, the challenges and the opportunities ahead.
