Holistic is derived from holism, factually wholism. Seeing All Existence as a whole, with details that are unmissable in the whole, the total in order to create or restore the natural balance of the wholeness we are, as a human, when indeed for 100% healthy: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Nutrition is about eating a healthy and balanced diet. Food and drink provide the energy and nutrients you need to be healthy. Understanding these nutrition terms may make it easier for you to make better food choices. Source
Food: the basic of health
Hippocrates was the first medical doctor, who had a great insight in healing the human being in a natural way. There were several steps to be made. The first of all was asking the patient the question: what do you eat? What is your life style? Then started a therapy program with a healthy diet, with food restrictions or even forbidden food or drinks. The healthy food and drinks were never off the daily life anymore. When, despite the healthy life style the complaints did not stop, only then Hippocrates went on with the obviously needed next step. But anyhow: food is the basic of health, which underlines the importance of agriculture, holistic agriculture, a pesticides and other chemicals or anti-biotics free agriculture. there are biocides, biological “pesticides”, like Orginum Onites L.
*Herbs
In the past fresh or dried herbs were part of the nutrition, and also part of farming, of agriculture. In modern times herbs almost disappeared, and were replaced by artificial spices. When the human being discovered the possibility to create chemical variants of medicinal herbs soon Big Pharma tried to bring herbs in a bad light, and even dared to categorize herbs as quackery. It is still forbidden to use the term medicinal herb. It is only allowed to sell them as “foodsupplement”. Herbs are used in the Mediterranean diet, holistic restaurants, phytotherapy, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).
*Holistic gastronomy
In the kitchen at home we have the freedom to chose for making healthy or unhealthy food, Supermarkets are allowed to sell also not healthy because not ecologically cultivated or grown vegetables and fruits, fish and meat from animals. The most of the restaurants do not mention where they buy what they use in their kitchen and what exactly the ingredients are of the food that is served on also your plate.
Customers though become more aware of the necessity of healthy food and chose for sustainable gastronomy, served in holistic restaurants. Holistic restaurants are in all details and facets consciously buying and making food, and are transparent about it, can offer websites where one can find all information about the cultivation of what they use; even the wine. There is zero waste. No plastic. Personal positive approach, also between cooks and chef. They have and practice all a conscious approach to food. The entire chain is creating the holistic restaurant. Visiting an holistic restaurant is healthy. It nourishes the mind, body and soul, via the beautiful aromas, fantastic flavours, and guaranteed top quality ingredients.
I know such a restaurant: Choux, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Merijn van Berlo is a chef with a holistic view. Take a look here.
*Holistic farming and cultivating
The fascination for sustainable, ecological and organic farming, for holistic agriculture, is growing, but not all ecological farms are holistic: even when all in and around the farm is ecological, but the farmer him- or herself is not living according to the basics of care for his/her own health, and creating disharmony in the own body and mind, is a disturbing energy field when among the animals, the cultivation of fields, crops, etc. This phenomenon is explained in Quantum Physics: lab results differ from the one and the other one, everybody has another energy field, and not everybody has an harmonious energy field. Some energy fields are completely polluted, sending negative vibes to others and even sucking away the energy from other beings around. These spiritual energy fields are an essential part of all our acts/activities. Since I, myself, am very sensitive for energies I can sense harmony and disharmony, can intuitively even find the exact spots, on someone else’s body, that are related with a pain spot somewhere else in the body. I have practised this successfully when working with therapeutic massages, much similar with Chinese massage and acupressure. The pain spot is mostly just the symptom, not the cause.

Animals are also very perceptive for the energy field of other beings. Can sense the energy field of another animal or being from a far distance. Sense if it is dangerous or not. A disharmonious or even ill farmer creates disharmony in animals where he/she cares for, and that disbalances the entire ecological farming. A conscious, holistic farmer cares in the first place for him/herself.
