Appeal For an Educational Revolution: Invest in Natural Instead of Artificial Intelligence!

Newsletter diagnose:funk * 12-03-2025

In Germany an appeal by 75 experts in education and medicine urgently warns the new federal government against continuing to rely on digitalization in the education system. They demand a change of course – for the benefit of the physical and mental development of children and young people. The initiators of the appeal include media educator Prof. Ralf Lankau (Offenburg University of Applied Sciences), Professor Klaus Zierer (University of Augsburg), psychiatrist Prof. Manfred Spitzer (Ulm University Hospital), renowned pediatrician Dr. Uwe Büsching, and teacher and textbook author Dr. Mario Gerwig (Basel).

In their appeal, the experts call for a halt to digital education policy and a ban on smartphones in schools. The comprehensively scientifically documented negative effects of digitalization on children and young people necessitate a fundamental reorientation of education policy. Therefore, in their appeal, the 75 experts propose alternatives to the use of digital devices and media in daycare centers, elementary schools, and lower secondary schools. They emphasize that children and young people develop self-confident skills much more successfully without digitalization. This helps them develop the maturity and skills necessary to use digital media thoughtfully and responsibly from middle school onwards, instead of becoming dependent on technologies, devices, and applications from large corporations.

Age-appropriate smartphone bans and screen-free daycare centers and elementary schools should mark the beginning of a comprehensive pedagogical reorientation in educational policy. Alternatives for a modern educational policy are outlined in the appendix to the appeal.

Note: the EMF safety guidelines and related health hazards have been unscientific from the moment that ICNIRP, the EMF safety guidelines decision makers group, was founded. ICNIRP, Big Tech and politics are inseparable, and reason why ICNIRP’s “safety” guidelines are implemented in all health care institutions, by governments, worldwide, and even the WHO, via the WHO-EMFproject. ICNIRP is located in the building of the German BfS, in Munich. The Bundesamt (German Federal Office) für Strahlenschutz is a political institution and funds ICNIRP for 80%. More: ICNIRP.
