As an introduction, I have used a video (Dutch, but subtitled) that was published in 2022, by the YouTube channel with the name “De Nieuwe Wereld”. Caroline Franssen explains in a very excellent way what exactly family constellations are, how they work. The video is followed by my comment.
The Ritual Magic of the Family Constellation | A Conversation with Caroline Franssen
My comment:
Rupert Sheldrake, PhD, Biochemistry, Developmental Biology, Consciousness Studies Fellow, Institute of Noetic Sciences; Fellow, Schumacher College, also supports the understanding of family constellations. He is also one of the initiators of The Manifesto for a Post-Materialist Science, published in Open Sciences. People are writing about the old form of science, which has, in fact, seriously damaged everyone’s thinking, both as an individual and as a group: it only recognises physical reality, while this is only part of a larger whole, in which there is also room for, for example, meta ta fisika (metaphysics, the world behind/beyond material reality (Aristotle)), in which the subtle world and the spiritual world are also real.
Caroline Franssen explains very clearly, and without allowing herself to be distracted, what, for me, knowledge from “beyond the physical” is, knowledge that cannot be explained with words that we know from that physical world. It is there, though. Pim van Lommel also speaks and writes about this, on topics such as Near-Death Experiences. He is also one of the approximately 600 who have signed the Manifesto. He is also included in the list of representatives of what the Manifesto expresses.
What happens in a group, at family constellations, in my view, is a metaphysical reality through which knowledge becomes available that is true. You can experience whether something is true; you feel it; something that is a lie doesn’t touch your feelings as being real.
When you are in touch with that metaphysical reality, you cannot lie about it later. That would be self-denial. Self-abnegation.
I myself have done bodywork, massages, Tai Yoga massages, Chinese massages, and my hands guided me through that special energy that was released, time and again, while connecting with something that wasn’t mine, and connecting me with that other person. This allowed my hands to know where the causes of the blockages were, what to do to remove them, and how long to treat them or when to stop. The cause was usually in a different place than where it was felt. It always matched. This also worked with animals. The pressure on the affected areas could be intense, but bruising never occurred.
I have the feeling that Caroline knows what to do or say in a similar way.
Rupert Sheldrake about family constellations
Social groups as morphic fields have a kind of built-in memory. In human families the family has a kind of field and the field of the family has patterns and habits within it, and this is most graphically illustrated by a form of psychotherapy called systemic family constellations, pioneered by the German psychologist Bert Hellinger. Dr Rupert Sheldrake, PhD, is a biologist and author best known for his hypothesis of morphic resonance. At Cambridge University he worked in developmental biology as a Fellow of Clare College. He was Principal Plant Physiologist at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics and From 2005 to 2010 was Director of the Perrott-Warrick project, Cambridge.
